Father Prakash is a Jesuit priest who has committed himself to the service of faith and the promotion of human rights, communal harmony, justice and peace for the last 30 years . He currently serves as the Director of “Prashant,” a center for human rights, justice and peace, and as the coordinator of the Province office for Integral Social Development (POISD), an organization which coordinates development, justice and peace works of the Society of Jesus in Gujarat , India .
Father Prakash is also the Director of the Justice and Peace Commission of the Baroda Diocese and the secretary for social communications for the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of India (CBCI) for 14 Dioceses of the western region of India . Father Prakash is a liaison for the Local Capacities for Peace Project based at Harvard University.
He is currently a fellow at the Marquette University in Wisconsin. He talks to the ABN Radio on the situation of Muslim, Christian and other minorities in India.

In June 2004, Roy was honored as one of the youngest ever recipient of the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, which is one of the highest Civil Honors awarded in Pakistan for excellence in serving humanity. For his organization’s earthquake rehabilitation in Kashmir, he was awarded with the Sitara-e-Eisaar. He was also selected to be a torch bearer for the 2008 Olympic Torch relay as the pride of Pakistan. The Domestic Crusaders focuses on a day in the life of a modern Muslim Pakistani-American family of six eclectic, unique members, who convene at the family house to celebrate the twenty-first birthday of the youngest child.
With a background of 9-11 and the scapegoating of Muslim Americans, the tensions and sparks fly among the three generations, culminating in an intense family battle as each “crusader” struggles to assert and impose their respective voices and opinions, while still attempting to maintain and understand that unifying thread that makes them part of the same family.
The three generations of the family include:
Hakim (Grandfather) — a retired, Pakistani army official who harbors a terrible secret;
Salman (Son) — a middle-aged corporate engineer trying to maintain his pride and self-respect;
Khulsoom (Salman’s wife) — longing for her homeland and wishing to impart her traditions, values, and morals to her American-born children;
Salahuddin (Eldest child) — stubbornly clinging to his ideals of success, as well as his anger and resentment towards his father;
Fatima (Middle child) — passionately advocating her Islamic identity, while rejecting the traditional stereotypes and biases of her mother;
Ghafur (Youngest child) — the golden child abandoning his family’s expectations in order to discover his own path.
These individuals are The Domestic Crusaders!
